The Farm Chicks is a yearly event at the Fairgrounds featuring tons of vendors selling all types of lovely products. Handmade goods, antiques, upcycled furniture, etc. I can’t not featured their poster design each year because it’s always so fitting and well done. Serena (founder and coordinator of Farm Chicks) usually hires a designer or illustrator based on her idea and research to find the perfect person. The result is always amazing. This year she hired Danielle Kroll who randomly happens to be one of my favorite illustrators recently. It’s obviously more geared toward folks who love pretty flowery painterly things. But that’s what is so great, it’s targeting the market of the event. If you are drawn to the poster, you naturally will love the event. And that is the power good art direction and well executed design can have when it is consciously used.
