The holidays can come to some people’s chagrin, especially music snobs. That Amy Grant Christmas album of your childhood is still nostalgic but sometimes we need a fresh soundtrack to the season. This year you are in luck. Here’s a handful of new tunes to add to your Christmas playlist.
Bartlett Christmas Vol. 1
We organized this compilation to correspond with the big Christmas show at The Bartlett and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Featuring new recordings from Mama Doll, Marshall Mclean, Water Monster and more. Check it out above and download for free.
Bristol/Curran Long Christmas Tunes
Lead singer of local folk/pop group Bristol recorded a couple of beautiful songs that are definitely worth checking out. Perfect for a quiet Christmas night around the fire. Just $2 to download.
Friends of Mine – “Nothin’ For Christmas”
Very new on the scene, Friends of Mine are my absolute new favorite band. Not gonna lie. This recording is not great in quality but the song is a perfect kick-off preview of this group. They’ve listed “Assembly Line Pop” and “Showtunes” as their genre on Facebook which is indicative of their naturally collective sarcasm. But don’t be fooled, their charm is only a portion of what makes them so appealing. Their amazing songwriting and musical talent are top notch. Best go follow them on fb and lookout for the next live show. I promise, you can’t not have fun seeing these guys play live.
And of course! You can always re-enjoy this Collect Session we did for Christmas last year.
Merry Christmas!! <3
