Ink Artspace is a brand new non-profit formed by local artists, authors, educators, poets and organizers to give teens an opportunity to explore the arts outside of their formal school environment at no cost. The idea is wonderful and in just the initial few months has garnered loads of support from Spokane’s brightest most established arts talent and many event organizers. Volume contributed to the cause as well as Halftone and now Ink is trying their own hand at fundraising. Already they have served free classes for High School kids on Poetry Performance and Street Art and an art show featuring young artists.
Now they need our help and support to secure plans for the rest of the year. They are hosting a happy hour tonight with a silent auction featuring some pretty amazing selections or original art, concert tickets, a bookshelf full of locally penned and signed books, and lots of other goodies. Bring your checkbook and enjoy mingling with some amazing folks who are passionate about the future of Spokane’s art scene.
